Mercia Golf was founded in 2011 by Lyn and Bob Frost when we found a source of golf gloves that we could sell that were and are great value for money and be a nice little business to work at in our retirement years, this has now grown to a brand registered business that sells and produces many fine golfing accessories.
Both Lyn and I live for the game of golf, indeed we met some 40 years ago at our golf club, we watch golf, play golf and all our holidays are all golfing holidays, we are total golf addicts.
I personally started playing golf in the late 60's and I am proud to have been a member at our club Maxstoke Park GC for over 50 years, in that time I have served on the committee and had the privilege of being Captain in 2012 a position for the year I enjoyed immensely. In those 50 years I met some wonderful people along the way from the King himself the legendary Arnold Palmer, two or three Open champions many tour players and played alongside many top amateurs, in my younger days I was luckily enough to be a good player and represented Warwickshire county on a few occasions and played with and against British Amateur champions and some of the top amateurs of the day.
In the 80's we had a sports shop where we had a golf section which was quite successful at the time and in a period of when there were very few high street golf shops about, sometime later after the shop was closed I became involved with golf club fitting, repairs and golf club making attending the courses that PGA pro's go to in order for them to qualify for becoming a PGA pro, I engaged with many local amateurs and helped them with finding, building and altering their clubs to suit their game, I also love the history of the game and have built a fair collection of hickory shafted clubs and golf balls of the time.
So you see that we have built up a fairly good knowledge of the game of golf and the golfing industry and at this moment in time we are very proud and excited with the launch of our new website and with the continuing business from our regular customers on eBay and Amazon rather than slowing down we hope to build Mercia Golf a business to be proud of.
